- Two male doctors and a female colleague from Britain are said to be in Aso Rock to treat President Buhari
- Report has it that a cabal of some of Buhari’s close associates are trying to frustrate his departure from Nigeria for treatment
- Buhari has not made any public appearance in over two weeks despite statements by the government a few days that the president had “resumed work”
Three medical doctors have arrived in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, to attend to the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Sahara Reporters reports.
According to the report, the three doctors, two males and one female are all British and Caucasian.
This comes even as a highly placed presidency source disclosed to Sahara Reporters that the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has set up a“safe house” in Abuja where Buhari is being treated by a relay of mostly foreign doctors.
It was gathered that the arrival of the new set of medical doctors to attend to him might be a further attempt by a cabal of some of Buhari’s close associates to frustrate his departure from Nigeria.
Report had claimed that Buhari was slated to leave Nigeria on May 10 for another medical trip to Britain.
However, members of the cabal around the president have opposed his foreign medical trip for fear that his absence would cost them political influence.
There was also anxiety within the Presidential Villa about the president’s condition on Wednesday, May 3, as the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, was seen moving a lot of documents out of the villa.
It remains unclear why Kyari made the move to take away documents to an unknown location.
We can report that Buhari has not made any public appearance in over two weeks, despite statements by the government a few days that the president had “resumed work.”
Even though President Buhari and his aides have refused to divulge the nature of his ailment, reports have it that several months ago that the Nigerian leader is ravaged by Crohn’s Disease, an intestinal disorder, areport which has been denied by the presidency.
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It causes inflammation of the lining of your digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition. Inflammation caused by Crohn’s disease can involve different areas of the digestive tract in different people.
